| RolStoppable said: Surprising that this thread has quite a few positive responses, considering that NX in this form would be a portable Wii U Gamepad with inferior ergonomy when played at home. The most baffling thing is that Nintendo would go with such a weird design and then have the docking station ruin any hopes for backwards compatibility with Wii U software, because the screen needs to sit in the docking station. This mockup visualizes why the Eurogamer rumor is so bad. Just like the "leaked" NX controller from a few months ago, the creator of the rumor thinks that Nintendo won't stray off far from what the Wii U was. NX is basically all about selling a "better" version of Wii U. |
They could have the chipset eject from the base NX for the docking station so the screen could still be used at home I suppose. I don't see why the ergonomics would be any worse than the Wii U gamepad which is comfortable enough.
This isn't just a Eurogamer rumor any more, Semi Accurate, IGN, Wall Street Journal, have all verified it with their own sources and Eurogamer themselves stated they verified this report with multiple sources, not just one. This is more like the PS4 Neo and Scorpio leaks.
If Nintendo can't sell a portable game machine (NX) any more they have no future as a primary hardware maker anyway. It should not be this fucking hard to sell hardware, if they need everything to be just perfect for them to move hardware, then the reality is that a lot of people don't want Nintendo hardware and needed to be tricked/wowwed by a razzle dazzle gimmick to maybe consider one. If that's the case, then really I don't think they have much of a future as a hardware maker.
