I wouldn't worry too much about Nintendo as a whole just because of what Reggie says. I know he has a good deal of power for a westerner but I doubt it amounts to much when it comes to product design. I would hope, anyway.
He's just such a politician. If Nintendo accidentally introduced a virus into the world that turned people into zombies, he'd find a silver lining that makes Nintendo look good. "While the Zombie Apocalypse is somewhat unfortunate, it's also likely that zombies are playing and enjoying the 3DS more than any other console thanks to its long battery life and large library."
