Theres nothing wrong with being cheap. Take shelter only has a budget of 5 mil and the movie was brilliant. That was Sony picture classics but still, point stands. Fieg is probably taking EVERYTHING into account including back end stuff. I'm sure the studio will be fine with it making less, but it probably needs over $400 mil for everyones to get their money and back end / points. |
Money Monster was a good movie even though it had a relatively low budget. Sony Pictures' blockbuster stuff is generally lacklustre, but many of their smaller movies are good.
Though I don't take this quite at face value. In that case, movies like Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor and Thor 2 performed anywhere between sub-par to mediocre, despite the studios behind them being pleased with the result. The industry estimate for this movie to be a success is 300 million at the Box Office, +more after DVD/Blu-ray and streaming revenues
