The only thing I would say truly shifted is my embrace of Western Gaming to Replace the decline of Eastern Gaming companies (I believe a user sums it up for me, basically Eastern Gaming was embracing Anime Cliche way too much).
I like both, but Western gaming embrace opened me up to buying a lot more games I would never try in the sixth generation, such as Bioshock, Mass Effect, Assassin Creed, etc.
