Yeah I absolutely adore the Gamera trilogy, I love its more grounded approach to the genre.
Godzilla vs Biollante is the second entry of the franchise's second sub-series, released in 1989.

Pacific Rim is basically a love letter to the kaiju genre, so sure, why not? As a giant monster junkie, I enjoyed it immensely. :)
