Adam Boyes, the vice president of publisher and developer relations at PlayStation, has left the company. Boyes announced his departure from Sony on an episode of the PlayStation Blogcast and on Twitter today.

Boyes says he’s leaving the PlayStation company, where he worked closely with third-party publishers and developers to bring their games to Sony’s console, to return to game development.

Boyes joined Sony in 2012. He was a prominent figure at the company, appearing onstage at the company’s E3 and PlayStation Experience press conferences. At last year’s E3, he announced that Shenmue 3 and Final Fantasy 7 Remake were coming to PlayStation 4.

Prior to joining Sony, Boyes worked at EA Canada, Midway and Capcom. He also formed production company Beefy Media.
