I think a not so well known actor is not comparable with a real Superman who would be the best known being on the planet.

I mean, if Obama would walk around in Washington people would recognize him even if he would call himself different.

But that's not really a problem of this movie and more of the whole Superman franchise.

Fair points, but also not proving your point.

I mean this was a day or two before the opening. You couldn't turn on the television without seeing a commercial. Superman as a character is the most recognized person in the entire world. Now here is a guy who plays him, is wearing a t-shirt and is walking around downtown with giant billboards of him all over the place.

THis is him wearing a superman t-shirt and no glasses on. Sure he would be recognized way easier if wearing superman suit, but he was also not dressed as clark kent. More of a mix of the two.

There is always that psychological explanation for Clark Kent. The whole argument that your brain will convince you against something obvious because you don't or can't belive it. I mean if there were a Superman, and there was someone at your work that looked similar to him would you believe that its him? I mean here is this guy who can shoot solar flares out of his eyes, fly, lift millions of pounds, invulnerable, ect and yet there he is filling his water up at the fridge and writing a story about Kim Kardashian. Or insert whatever work environment you want. I'm sure you'll ask him, watch him, try and catch him ect. But in the end assume its just a likeness. There are sites that youcan easily see most celeb dopplegangers, or heck people alter their looks, hair, even plastic surgery to look like a celeb. If there were a superman, don't you think he would be the most sought after male in the entire world from females. If I looked even a 1/10th like him, I woudl alter my hair, ect to try and look as close to him as I could to also attract girls.

It's proving everything. To compare an actor people saw maybe a few times for a few seconds in a trailer with an alien living on our planet whose face people would have burned in their brain is already funny.

But to try to explain it with some psychological "hey, you wouldn't think someone who looks like him is him because he would have a normal job" is bullshit in my opinion.

You have a guy who looks like that alien working in the room besides you. You would surely test him. You would test his reactions and other stuff (and if just for fun). You would recognize that everytime there is that alien in the news saving someone's life that guy working in the room besides you isn't there and everytime he is there, nothing happens or it happens something without Superman helping.

Yes, some people would try to look like Superman but I'm 100 percent sure that there would be at least a few damn guy who would try to push a needle in his skin or something like that. That  "haha sry I was just looking if you are Superman" guy.  I mean, even if epople wouldn't believe he is Superman he would do stuff like that just for the lolz and then they would accidentally find out that he is it.

So yeah, please don't try to find some explanations which would maybe work with a human doppleganger. We are talking about Superman here where it would be pretty easy to find out if you are him or not.

Obama couldn't just walk around on this planet, some Football star couldn't walk around in his city, Bill Gates couldn't walk around in USA and Superman couldn't just walk around as Clark Kent and people on the streets were like "ohh a guy who looks like x, nothing else". Clark Kent couldn't walk 50 meters without someone stopping him and asking or testing him if he is Superman.

It's just a flaw in the Superman universe but who cares, it's really not an important point.
