Going strictly by stereotype it's probably gonna be bigger there than in any other country in the world.
- Small flats, perfect for VR instead of big TVs
- Dating sims
- Smartphone + Japan + VR = profit
- variety shows reacting to people in VR doing crazy shit
- NerveGear anyone?
I think the applications go easily beyond what the west usually associates with VR, namely first person games.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
