Motion controls can be way more fun than regular controls, but it depends on the game and the implementation. Some may like it, some may hate it, but I appreciate that Nintendo trys to innovate gaming. Their influence is highly necessary for the whole industry. I would even go that far to claim that the recent VR buzz wouldn't be happening at all if it wasn't for Nintendo and their attempt to integrate motion into gaming, as well as broaden the understanding of how to play a game.
