Well it's not hypocritical for me as I'm not a Brit, just a big believer in the values and principles of democracy.

Also, I'm pretty sure the parliament would be able to object to EU regulations, but if most other EU members insisted then the parliament would get overruled. I'm obviously not an expert by any means, but laws should only be put forward by elected representatives.
