It is the games. Upstreaming don't happen at once, it takes time when people slowly move upstream.
MKWii is a good example of a game that is supposed to work as a bridge and i believe same goes for Brawl. It's not one game or two games, it's a series of games. Think it as this way as one possible example: people buy Wii Fit-> they want new games and download fun and cheap Dr.Mario from WiiWare-> the game was fun and want another game-> the Mario game was fun last time, let's try some other Mario game (SMG, MKW, etc.)-> that was fun, Nintendo makes fun games, let's try another Nintendo game-> the other Nintendo game was fun, i wonder what kind of games the other publishers make...

When you look at game sales today and in the future, you'll notice that the further this generation goes, the more the higher tier games are going to sell, as well as some current, higher tier, games are going to show legs.

As for the E3, we know that Reggie said that the game for christmas, which no doubt will be seen in E3, is something that the new audience as well as the old audience likes. It's really hard to tell what they are up to, usually aim to surprise everyone. Their big titles tend to be EAD developed games and last year they really did surprise everyone with Wii Fit.
