That's extremely stupid. Don't they realize that gamers hardly are aware of anything Nintendo does nowadays? Any PR would be great to increase awareness. And E3 is almost free PR.
Nintendo is a company really in trouble. They're so out of touch, even more than Microsoft's gaming division. How can you just stop making games? What business plan is that? And now they can't even announce their new console.
