Tsuyu is pretty great. I like that we saw the hot girl's power too...even if I feel like it has the potential to be OP later on. And lightning boy's aftereffect cracked me up. I'm probably in the minority, but I actually like that the story is taking its time to get where it needs to go. Not every episode has kept me at the edge of my seat, but I enjoy learning more about the characters, and watching Izuku grow in the process. I find myself smiling several times an episode, more than most of the shows I'm watching this season. Still...a lot of this season is definitely set up, so it'd be wasted if the anime doesn't get renewed. Otherwise, this whole season just strikes me as a big advertisement for the manga. Which...is honestly more than possible, given the purpose of adaptations like this in the first place. Doesn't mean I don't reserve the right to growl about it. On that note, I've been doing my damnedest to avoid manga spoilers, but I'm curious if All Might will be killed off during this fight. I kinda doubt it, since he's been given the teacher role...but at the same time, it seems like he's been getting death flags for a while. We'll find out soon I suppose. |
Depends, kind of. If this is a 24+ episode series, that's fine, but if not, I think they could have cut one or two episodes of content, especially of pre-Academy material, with very little impact. It's not like the main character needed a lot of initial exposition. He started out as simple they come. It's no big deal but I didn't really find this series interesting until they started introducing his classmates. As it stands, I still don't care about him all that much and think several of his classmates are a lot more engaging.
Regarding that spoiler, it wouldn't surprise me much, though I don't know if it will happen yet. However, you know that moment will come eventually.
