We did repairs on most consoles, 3ds were always broken lol they consoles are made with quite cheap material that breaks easily 

The fact that the system has nothing really to stop you opening it beyond the point where you shouldn't... just asking for kids to *snap* them back too far, my nephew has murdered 2 DS style systems in his life.

 

Edit - The consoles still turn on after you do this... but they have a broken "neck" and don't really close properly ever again, it might not be murder but it's definitely making the system wheelchair bound for the rest of their days.
