We don't live in an age where stars carry big blockbuster movies the way they did previously.  It's more about the property they are in.

Actors do contribute, but when I look at this list I don't see how actors were the number one reason these were the highest grossing films last year.

Yeah the days of Tom Cruise, Julia Roberts, Will Smith, Tom Hanks, etc. being able to carry movies on their back are kinda over. The age of the "movie star" at least for now has kinda faded.
