Sounds to me like you are blindly expecting people to like the movie based on its premise and not its execution. Also, a guy being a famous guys kid doesn't mean he is capable of directing a great movie off what amounts to be a poor script. Even the best directors in the business aren't able to take poor writing and turn it into award fodder.
Video game movies need to be made well to get people to watch them. Poorly made video game movies need to be ignored and panned so that studios know the formula they are using doesn't work. This way they go back to the drawing board and try to get it right.

But you can't expect them to just waste millions and millions of dollars all the time. THIS IS the ONLY Warcraft movie. If it bombs, why should they waste money to make another?
