My sentiments as well. I have no interest in this tournament's rules, but I'll gladly help out as a coach. Just because I and a couple other people aren't necessarily interested doesn't mean it's not worth having. ^_^ |
Same here. I'm don't want to see it canceled, but I'm just pointing out that it really feels like a lot of perfectly valid skill is getting cut off by the tournament rules. Actually, I think I might be willing to act as coach or sparring partner as well for those who want to get ready, now that my finals are over.
For those who are interested, or those who've just wanted to spar against, me, give me a quick PM and I'll see if we can't get some time set up.

So rather than try to work out the issues and either ban/unban stages he likes/doesn't like he is going to throw his hands in the air and blame the "casuals." I hope I am wrong, but it honestly looks like he can't take the critisim of his rules. |
I don't think this is so much his fault as it's the tournaments that are still stuck in Melee era where tiers ruled and there were exploits out the wazoo. Once you get embedded in that, it's really hard to pull out and just roll with the new additions. Though I might point out that VGChartz hardly is the most hardcore SSBB site, so it might be better to just simply set it up outside of tournament rules:
Set the stock to 3 - 5 range and then only take out the fully moving stages, and maybe the 8 bit stages, since they've got all the turtles and the springs getting thrown around. Cast a vote for whether smash balls should be allowed and then just play.
