Nope. Wii U is an evolution of Gamecube, the controller is just a better controller for the core audience. Why would you buy a PS4, when you have Wii U with a controller that does all the stuff the PS4 controller and more.

This is pretty much it. When the link cable was released, GBA was supposed to be able to be use as a controller in (selected) games.
