I should have better luck with this one!
I guess hate is a strong word for me...at worst I just don't care about characters. In general, more passive characters with little exposition bore me...but there are plenty of exceptions to that. In anything with romance as a focus, I find orbital characters to be incredibly boring...but again...there are exceptions.
Something I can get behind though...are non-MC Gary Stus in shonen action series. Zoro and Erza from One Piece and Fairy Tail are the first to come to mind. They get all the plot armor advantages of being an MC, without any of the quirks that make them somewhat fun to watch. Zoro's character development generally consists of "I can cut this?" while Erza will literally win fights "because she is Erza". Guh.
I'm probably being too harsh though...Both have had scenes that I admit were great highlights in their respective series.
