See while it can do well for them, people in the end go for the system for the amazing games, the look of the system, the way it sounds and boots up (I can not describe how orgasmic it feels to hear the PS1 boot sound). Sure it could do Ninty something to toss in a DVD or BR player but if the system sells badly then those media like features or focus were wasted money, time and effortm that could cost them time and time again, like having another variable to deal with.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
