I never said Nintendo would stop making handheld games. It's just if their console is going to sell like complete shit anyway, much like are doing with smartphone games (to "bring" more people to the Nintendo brand), then having some Nintendo IP on say the Playstation could also introduce people to Nintendo IP and they then may buy the NX portable.

No one is selling hardware at huge losses these days, there's no need to unless you make a bunch of stupid design decisions like Nintendo did with the Wii U. The PS4 and XB1 are sold at a profit/cost. I remember even Iwata saying chipsets are not really a big issue for losses because they scale down in cost very quickly these days.

I didn't assert that you said Nintendo would stop making handheld games. Anyway, like usual, this is going to be a waste of time. You consider Nintendo's smartphone games to be on the same level as their hypothetical PS4 games, so what hope is there that something will get through to you? There's a significant difference between "all of Nintendo's premium content will only be available on Nintendo hardware" and "you won't need Nintendo hardware to play Nintendo's best games."

In case you didn't grasp it, I am out.

Nintendo's "best/premium content" games aren't on their best selling hardware, the console generally always gets the bigger gun games, that has never stopped the Nintendo portable from outselling the console by large margins. If the console is only going to sell 10-15 million units, you're basically really just a portable company.
