Also the Dualshock 3 isn't normal because it has Sixaxis motion control in games, Also the Dualshock 2 isn't normal because it has analogue sticks and buttons (remember holding someone up in MGS2? squeeze that button too hard and you accidentally get Head confetti)
All Playstation consoles have added something to the mix on the controller, the thing is... they've added the new thing to a winning formula, one that the fans of the system and brand have been vocal about enjoying so they've not gone against the grain and moved away from their core audiences preference, each time a new Nintendo console comes out the user has to deal with 2 new things 1. the new console/games/interface and 2. the controller being different. I mean if it wasn't for the fact that Mario/Zelda/Metroid and Co. were software for the consoles it would be tough to know which console line the Nintendo systems came into if you never seen a console before and they had the logos removed.
Think that is why Nintendo either gains or loses a lot of gamers between gen compared to most, sometimes their old fans think.... naw, not this time, and that isn't because they no longer love Nintendo but more that the new consoles are simply not designed for their fans, but in the hopes of new and different players who liked what they did the previous gen, means basically Nintendo can never please fans of those which have come before universally.
