You are hilarious. Come on, man, not every movie needs to be dour and devoid of soul like Batman v Superman. This movie was immensely serious with quips in it to maintain a sense of levity. These people are friends, not enemies.
They dialed back the 'war' tones because they chise to do a more personal story. it works right in accordance to the world that had been created with th MCU. This is an adaptation, not meant to be a panel for panel recreation.
This movie is good on ts own terms, as it should be.
