Especially when you consider that 95% of all games made would typically be released on all consoles. This of course is assuming Nintendo can finally get third parties behind them. I don't even think it's big enough for two.... but the competition is needed to keep companies honest. If it were left to Sony, we would be paying for $1000+ consoles and probably have a very very dated network infrastructure. If it were left to MS, we would not be using discs anymore and/or not able to buy or play used games. If it were left to Nintendo.... well, thrid parties wouldn't exist. unless bibtedno says it's OK to. |
I think Nintendo actually did a great job handling both core and casual with the Wii. It could have done more, and third party could have cared a bit more, but I think I would not dismise it as a core console. At the end of the day, all three consoles last generations did fine, some not financially great, but still fine.
