I knew, just like everyone else who said 2016, that this wasn't about just a few months (I included Q1 2017 just in case some people like you would pretend that January 1, 2017 at 00:01 AM counts as "2017"), but about a period spanning over a year or longer.

It was about the the realization of how badly the WiiU was doing vs the denial of it. "There is no 2017 for WiiU" was the argument.
When people said 2017, they meant holiday or beyond, because no console has ever launched worldwide outside of the holidays.
