Doesn't seem too much of a stretch though, Nintendo funded Itagaki's last game, they also published the last Ninja Gaiden on the Wii U and are close to Tecmo.

Would seem like a natural fit.

Yeah, they did fund his last game.  And look how that worked out for them :P

I doubt Nintendo and Itagaki will be making any deals again any time soon.  As for Ninja Gaiden, I doubt they could pull off getting it to be exclusive.  Maybe timed exclusive.
