Because they don't even seem to be making progress towards answering anything. Not only that but they keep adding more mystery on top of what they've already got. And Scooby Doo was fine, the mystery was solved by the end of the episode and then there was a new mystery next time. Mayoiga seems to just be dragging this one mystery out and like I said earlier if they keep dragging it out like this then I'm kind of doubtful they'll be able to explain it all in a decent fashion with just one episode at the end or something. |
Scooby had his longer movies, though, and even the half hour shows can still be seen as a microcosm. Usually with stories like this, you have a turning point toward the end where the protagonists figure enough out that they switch from reactionary to taking action. It's just like a roller coaster, with a long build and a frenzied conclusion. If anything, I wonder if they'll be able to sustain the principle mystery for that long without the answer becoming evident as characters are eliminated from suspicion. If they start figuring out stuff now, it will become an action anime rather than a suspense anime.
Lost was something different, where the writers were just throwing junk out to extend the life of the series. If I remember correctly, it wasn't written to have any kind of meaningful end from the start.
