Well that's swell. Games with PS2 level graphical complexity needlessly displayed at 4K because why not? What a world we live in where this sounds appealing to some people. I mean why bother with HD remakes when we really need to do is just bump up the resolution so the simplicity of the 3D models looks glaringly obvious!

You do realize that you continue to prove my point right? That only games with a very light rendering load will be able to be run at 4K, and those types of games represent a tiny fraction of the games console owners play, which again, makes it pretty pointless.

Precisely this; building more expensive 4k-capable hardware for the sake of a few glaringly simple games with rather niche appeal would be a ridiculous decision, both from an artisitc and an economical point of view.
