Well yes, while technically true, it might not be feasible. For example if a console can output at 4K, but the game has PS1-level graphical fidelity and runs at 3 frames per second, then it's sort of pointless, isn't it?

Games like Rayman Adventures, Tales of Monkey Island, Infinity Blade 3, Real Racing 3 and many others are way above "PS1-level graphical fidelity" and run perfectly fine even on iPads in native 2048x1536 resolution.

Modern consoles should have no problem to play these games in native 4K.
