I realize you didn't care for it, but did you even SEE Star Wars Episode VII? Honestly, I'm sick of people bitching about the fight scene at the end. Case in point: Example 1: IT was clear She was strong with the force. They made that clear throughout the film and showed that her tenacity and intelligence made her learn quickly. 2 - It was Two on One. Finn also fought and was a distraction 3 - Kylo did not WANT to kill her. He wanted to take her in, to train her. He had plenty of opportunity to kill her but he didn't, just like how Darth Vader didn't want to kill Luke. They may have been enemies, but both held out hope the other would come to their side. Luke wanted to turn Vader to the light, and Vader wanted to turn luke to the dark side. 4 - Kylo had just killed you-know-who, and the whole arch of his character was that he wasn't fully dark. He was conflicted, inching toward the dark side but tempted by the light. Killing That person may have released his anger, but there's no way it didn't affect him. 5 - Kylo had just been shot in the abdomen with a bowcaster, a weapon that was shown time and time again throughout the movie to be immensely powerful. When Han used it to shoot a stormtrooper, either the stormtrooper was blasted backwards or tossed through the air. Shoot the ground in front of a squad and they ALL splash out in different directions. Kylo Ren took a blast from this thing in his side. He was severely weakened and struggling against the pain of the injury through the whole fight. So, to recap: Kylo was conflicted, wounded, and up in a two-on-one fight against an opponent he didn't want to kill who was shown to be quite adept at force manipulation. THAT is why it was an even match. |
Yes but if someone has to rely on a bunch of fan-fiction non-sense in order to make a plot work, it's a poor plot to begin with. Also, Vader didn't get overwhelmed by Luke in their first encounter. Vader flat out OWNED him, with ease. Kylo was OWNED by this girl... bitch slapped. So much so that he was laying on the ground, cowering like a 10 year old girl. And all of this, at the hand of a young girl who has never trained with a Jedi in her life. That's the part you're forgetting. She had ZERO training and yet, took down a Sith. And if the ground had not split open, she would have struck him down completely and killed him.
It's just unjustifiable.
