I agree that they revealed it too early, but they had no other option. If Iwata hadn't said anything when the partnership with DeNA was announced, we would have been flooded with articles claiming that Nintendo was exiting the hardware business and going mobile.
It was a necessary evil.
And it's us who talk about it. We even talked about it before Nintendo said anything about NX, it's just that we used to call it "fusion".
