The graphics should be a lot better, but beggars can't be choosers.
A Star Fox game was never going to be given a big budget by Nintendo, and one on a flop of a system like Wii U was going to get even less of a budget. It is basically GameCube-tier graphics done in HD with some ok modern effects, but running simultaneously on two screens with the main screen being HD.
The alternative being no Star Fox game for another several years ... I'll take my Star Fox 0, thanks.
I'd gladly accept a new F-Zero under similar circumstances (something roughly on par with F-Zero GX visually, just in 720p 60 fps with some modern lighting/shader effects).
