12-sai episode 1.

I read some of the manga for this.  Though it wasn't really to my tastes, I thought it was pretty good.  However, the anime is much different.  The manga did have humor but it was more serious about the situations and problems that kids go through.  The anime is goofy and formulaic in comparison.

They've also changed the story in ways that I don't like.  It feels like they're trying to simplify it.  For instance, the popular girl doesn't wait until after class to blame Hanabi.  She does it right during the recital, in front of the teacher, and really tries to get Hanabi in trouble.  Hanabi's friends also stick up for her and refute Cocoa's lies.  It's a more serious confrontation.  The issue with nervousness over the kiss for both the main characters is presented as a bigger deal, as well.

I know "the manga is better than the anime" is thrown around a lot but in this case I think it's spot-on.  This feels like they're trying to reduce the story from the manga down into sugary, cliched bites.
