Every gen has had brilliant and creatively designed Pokemon, and every gen has had uninspired trash. People who say Game Freak is out of ideas are usually people who haven't followed the series all the way through.

Gens 2 and 5 are considered the two worst by the collective fandom in terms of worst Pokemon, in terms of both battle and design. I agree with those sentiments.

I wasn't being entirely serious, and I confess I don't know the gens anywhere near well enough to make any judgement on which is better/worse. Just taking the piss out of some of the designs in this thread so far.
