No, those are facts, not excuses. SF games have a huge replayability factor, and this game is a bit lengthier (for what I've seen) than previous SF games, though I quite get why you might not be a fan of it, though. 

Having a huge replayability factor does not solve the main problem. If you have short game you must have controls that clicks inmediatly to enjoy from the first minute because there's going to be a short journey. In games with a lot of hours left, you can have this "we need time to click" controls because there's still a lot of time to learn and a lot of things to do.
