My biggest problem with that leak is the use of an x86 and an ARM processor together, and for one simple reason: cost.

I know that Wii U already had an ARM co-processor that took care of OS/security, but including a fully fledged ARM processor just to play handheld games on it seems like a very costly measure that could be solved by making the x86 processor emulate the ARM one.

Just think about it, the ARM processor could cost something like $25 that would increase the final retail price by more than that. Is it really worth it having an x86 processor on top of a shared OS that could take care of that task without adding extra costs?

Did you read the rumour because he said they not for the same hardware, what he's saying is that ARM is for the portable and x86 is for the console.

That's not what it says:

"I haven't received a message from the mods, but in the meanwhile: to clear one thing up, some genuine leakers have said ARM, some have said x86, the NX is using both but one for the home console and one for the upcoming handheld. In essence, the ARM architecture is a small piece of the overall NX home console and specifically done to port handheld games to the Home console, not the other way around. Devs are not forced to create games for it."

Basically NX handheld has an ARM processor while the NX home console have an x86 processor for its own games but also an ARM one to play the handheld games.
