Wow! This is a brilliant marketing scheme on Nintendo's part. They literally just found away to keep people playing their games and buying new games. Sure... you can get free games and discounts, which better than what Sony and Microsoft currently offer... but they want you to drop cash on their games and play the fuck out of their games.
Want free stuff? Earn it *snap snap snap* Buy more games, play non-stop, and buy a new game next week for more coins. Better play those games fast or *wink wink* You'll lose your cooooiiins.
Nintendo is literally just put a carrot on a stick....
