Nintendo fans need to be less concerned about when NX comes out and more concerned about whether it will be successful period.
If it does come out in fall 2017, even PS4K will have a head start and is probably a good deal more powerful. NX I think almost then has to be something non-conventional as a hardware design to have any kind of success and even then that might not be enough.
They are in a really, really bad situation, fucking up with the Wii U and basically allowed Sony to corner the console market while simultaneously getting bent over by mobile has put them into a terrible position.
