and why shouldn't they wait? They are still making a ton of Wii U software. It isn't dead.

A ton of WIi U software?  The Wii U has only two worthwhile releases this year.  Outside Star Fox Zero and Zelda U it's literally barren of AAA 1st party support throughout 2016.

Twilight Princess HD, Pokken, Star Fox Zero, Star Fox Guard, Mario & Sonic, Tokyo Mirage Sessions, Paper Mario and Zelda. That's more than we had in 2014. Think about that. Nintendo isn't done yet with the Wii U. The Wii U has its momentum right now.

And Kimishima said several times that there are more unannounced Wii U games. I expect around 4 or 5 unannounced games coming this year.

GBA got replaced before GCN, although the GBA sold way better. Same goes for NDS/Wii.

When did Nintendo ever say that they want Zelda as a launch title? It is a Wii U exclusive game. You are saying things about Nintendo that aren't true. 3DS sales are falling. They even had to lower their forecast by 1 million. 3DS is not doing well. It will be replaced first.

If the 3DS isn't doing well, the WiiU is catastrophic. Even at its weakest, the 3DS is the device that is keeping most of Nintendos software and hardware sales this gen. Zelda U's constant delays and some of the most trustworthy leaks point to a Zelda U version on the NX as soon as they can.

Also, if the idea of a shared library is true, the handheld would need as much power as possible, so waiting a year for it to get better specs would be reasonable.

The idea of the shared library is obviously not true. That would just cause that we get lame handheld games on the home console and no real home console games.

And where is the Wii U doing catastrophic? It sell constant 3 million per year. And every Zelda game had delays. Even Skyward Sword and did that ended on Wii U? No. The delays don't mean anything. And leaks can always be fake.
