Production doesn't really work like this, you can't just say to a supplier "hey mind whipping up a couple more Wii Us for me, we need a few more for next month".
The suppliers likely have stopped production and won't start again unless Nintendo orders a good sized volume of them to make it worth their while. Which Nintendo likely doesn't want to do because they could end up getting stuck with unsold inventory in the end.
Even being stuck with a low number of unsold units, like lets say 100,000 units as I mentioned above, at a $200 cost/unit ... that's $20 million down the toilet. Nintendo is a notoriously stingy company, shit like that don't fly in Kyoto, that's a fast way to get yourself fired.
