As far as I know, actual PS3 games cannot run on anything except Blu-Ray. Blu-Ray production prices have gone down more than you would think as well. There are multiple reasons I can think of for distributing it physically: 1. To raise awareness about the game. Consumers like stuff they can see on the shelves, simple as that. It is much harder to entice people to buy a system for something that they can only "see" after they purchase the system. 2. To provide a headset option. I think they are doing this with SOCOM too. They didn't have a first party one, so this is a good place to offer one, and it is at a good price, which is why I am opting for this package. 3. For extra features. Dev comments, making of, etc. Maybe some more goodies that I haven't heard about. |
They can run off the HDD, thats where the Warhawk Beta and Home betas run off of. It makes sure there is no lag. So the game will most likely install to the HDD from the BR Disc. Most of the downloadable games like Calling all Cars and stuff all have the PS3 logo on them at start up.
The bundle features behind the scenes videos, trailers of up coming games, and all the Warhawk trailers up to now all in HD. Plus it has the headset.
