I don't remember Starfox Zero having a petition calling for it to be cancelled within hours of its announcement. (Though to be fair I may have just missed it)

Complaining can serve a positive purpose, as we see here.
There's an old saying: "If nothing bad is ever said, nothing good will ever get done."
Improvement is typically driven by criticism, not complacency.
