Well I took like a 2 day break from online aside from watching the Direct and find myself looking at all the chaos ensuing. Well yes people had unrealistic expectations from the Direct and the amount of overreactions reflect that. I'm confused by the annoyance that this thread exists every time a direct ends when its not wrong by any means: People had unrealistic expectations and this is shown EVERY time prior to a Direct, and then you have at least 2-3 threads (like now) touting their hatred for the direct as if its the worse thing ever... EVERY time after a Direct. Even some people are nonstop mentioning their qualms in off topic threads and/or making it sound that the Direct feel truly hurt them physically over a small potion of the entire direct. Like how?
Granted, I'm not saying people shouldn't be disappointed by any means. A lot of the negativity is fair and warranted. Star Fox 0 wouldn't have been delayed to this year otherwise and it needed to. However there is something called an over reaction. This is not the end of times.
Anyway, personally I thought it was fine. A 7.5 for me.
Overall Star Fox looks refined, never worried about this. Delayed was needed. People are still complaining that its too much like Star Fox 64... People previously complained the other games were not enough like it. Damned if you do damned if you don't.
Star Fox Guard, I am VERY excited for because I love tower defense game and this one looks like its done right and implements its features well. Plus you can create and share levels.
I understand the Paper Mario hate. Only played TTYD so I don't sympathize due to lack of playing the others. I'd rather wait and see patiently see more content to find out if its worth trying.
Mario & Sonic Rio: Look we saw this coming they mentioned the 3DS version previously and said they would talk about this later. Expected.
Metroid FF: ... I respect the developers for sticking to their guns on making a game they choose to make. I am usually pro creator's vision. I think the timing of this game and the art-style are going to hold this back for many and the genuine frustration from the actual Metroid fans is perfectly understandable. Most of the rest of the people complaining are just jumping on the hate train.
