Some info about the reason for discontinuing the Vita TV.

http://www.dualshockers.com/2016/02/29/sony-explains-discontinuation-of-ps-vita-tv-in-japan-mentions-strong-ps4-and-ps-vita-sales/

“The role of the PlayStation Vita TV was to let people enjoy easily handheld games on their TV, and to create an opportunity to reconnect with people who distanced themselves from gaming. In the current situation, with strong sales of PS4, and also a strong PS Vita in Japan, it has played its given role.”

So there's your reason, take it as you will.

Playstation TV was a good idea for all these people who wanted to play PS Vita games on TV.
Everyone who wanted the Playstation TV, has bought it yet. There is no big reason to continue with shipments.

Thank you Playstation TV!!!
