Jordan, even during the 80's, was the best player in the game. When Bird and Magic were winning, Jordan was the best individual player in the game. During the Piston's reign, Cuck Daly said that Jordan was so good, that he was "embarrassing the league". So, when you discount his rookie reason, the broken foot season, the quarter season when he came back and those two seasons on the Wizards due to age, that's at least 10 seasons where he was the unquestionable "best player" in the league. So if we're giving the MVP to the best player, he'd have at least 10.

Well even though the best player doesn't win all the time at least it better then NFL MVP award where you almost have no chance of winning it if you play on the defensive side.

Meh, "MVP" in all major US sports is based on politics within the given year more than performance. Harper had the best stats in MLB last year but his team couldn't win a game against a little league squad. The NBA uses it's MVP award more for promotion. If the deserving player wins it, it's mostly coincidence... hence Jordan only winning 5.
