Are you suggesting that a downward spiral is nothing to be concerned about. 

It's definitely something to be concerned about for Microsoft. Their market share is slipping away and I don't see what they can do to come back. I don't think a successful VR preipheral would be what spells doom for them in the end. Other things will do that.
