I think trademarks dont necessarily much. Nintendo or GameFreak could use this like 10 years down the road.
If they just trademarked it, it hardly means they will use it right away.
Unless I'm being dumb and dont understand how trademarks work. That is more likely.
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.
