Do you not realize that fan service is the icing on the cake? Sure, you can eat a cake without icing but it's missing one of the best parts. Removing fan service is not a non-issue. It's not an issue to you but it is to many others, otherwise there wouldn't be that vid or this very discussion about it. Fan service ranging from sexualized outfits/minigames or non-sexual types like returning characters or returning weapons/gear are not non-issues if they are removed.

A one-size-that-actually-fits-all approach would be as a I mentioned eariler, just adjust the characters' ages officially by releasing their character stats on their website. Everyone's happy. If a character's age is actually mentioned in the game, it can be fixed in the translation. I'm sure it would work just fine for sweden and their sensibilities.

What I see is that non-Fire Emblem fans try to make this an issue while Fire Emblem fans are either indifferent or say good riddance. That makes it fan service that has missed the mark. It's not icing on the cake, but rather a stain on an otherwise clean cloth.

Somehow I doubt that a mere change of age would silence the critics. Also, I doubt that the people who are against the removal of bikinis would be happy because Nintendo changed the content of the game by making characters older than they originally were.

I disagree with any censorship just on principle alone. If I googled fire emblem and took a look at the games of the series, will I find more sexualized fan service? Does that mean that type of fan service is the norm for the series now and it's something the fans of the series expect in the games? Didn't awakening save the series? Seems more a handful of prudes are just trying to justify the censorship when other fans would rather have the game remain as close as possible to the japanese version/true version.
