Did you watch that vid? How do you explain why they removed bikini outfits? Honestly, what sweden does is irrevelent in the video game market.

As for your excuse of why they censored those games. The simple solution is to just adjust the ages of the fictional characters. The japanese have done that before with other games and mediums. The new nintendo boss has a different viewpoint on this censorship compared to the old one.

In just one game they went from censoring the touching the characters minigame to taking out bikinis. There's already a bit of a snowball effect. It wouldn't take much for nintendo censor more of their games.

The girls look underage and Fire Emblem Fates has quite a few young female characters. Adjusting the age would only work to a certain degree, because at some point it becomes too obvious of a cheap excuse. Nevermind that the adjusted age might not fit the dialogue and personality of the characters anymore, and there are plenty of conversations in Fates. So the simplest solution remains the removal of a few outfits, because it has no impact on gameplay and story.

Writing off Sweden, Norway and Denmark as non-factors is a poor attitude to have. Nevermind that if you did that, you would also have to accept that you and others could be written off as non-factors, especially because your numbers are lower than the number of consumers in the aforementioned scandinavian countries. You would basically remove yourself from the argument and show yourself the door. Is that your wish?

And yes, what a snowball effect. We all should be concerned that Nintendo's self-censorship will eventually impact meaningful content, because appeasing countries like Sweden is equal to making a pact with the devil. Okay, that was too dramatic.

You used that "meaningful content" again. Isn't "meaningful content" subjective? I consider all forms of fanservice important because it has an impact on the consumers who actually play the games. With that being mentioned, why bother having something in a game meant as fan service if only to remove it to appeal to certain vocal but mostly small political groups within western countries? Nintendo is pandering to the wrong people. The main reason why I wrote off sweden in this because feminism is a strong there and it's a poor example to how the west would react to something like sexual based fan service.
