It's impossible because not everything can be downported to the handheld and some would be very hard to do. It's terrible because exclusives are necessary.

They are exclusive to Nintendo. And even if some of the bigger projects have to be left for home console due to power limitations, that leaves us with a handheld that could play most of the NX games. Probably 3rd parties would also take the time to make their games work on the handhelds: they know that's where most of the audience is going and will take advantage of the main NX feature (it can double as a handheld). This would be specially interesting for JRPGs or games with the japanese market in mind. Per example, if the NX handheld can play FF VII remake without major downsides, that is the version SE are going to push in Japan.
